What is the CGAUXOnSite?

The site is a place for members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and people like you to share your experiences, including photos, videos and commentary. Once you're registered, you can begin posting photos, videos and information about the going's-on in your CGAUX community. Reports while on the water or in the air can be posted from through the Android or iPhone apps or on this website. You - and users like you - can browse, search and filter user post and add your own comments and ratings, as well as share to Facebook, twitter and by email or text. This site and the hosting is donated – and free to use for all Coast Guard Auxiliary members and those interested in supporting the Coast Guard and the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Active duty Coast Guard are encouraged to post reports of interest. This site is not affiliated with the United States Coast Guard nor the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.

How do I change my role status?

After you register you'll be a "Novice." You will become a "Beginner" after you have submitted a few reports that we review. More than 30 submissions earns you the "Star" user role.

Can I add a location or category?

Submissions are tagged with the location and category you select from our lists. If there's a category or assignment you'd like added, let us know . We will add new categories to accommodate late-breaking or popular topics and you can contact us by email to make suggestions. We will also occasionally post "Assignments," asking you to post content on a specific topic or location.

Who reviews and/or edits submitted content?

You do. This is a User Generated Content site. You post your reports with text, photos and video. You are the only reviewers. If you find a report that is objectionable mark it as abusive when a report is marked as abusive twice it is removed from the site. If you submit abusive reports you will no longer be able to post. Once a report is submitted to be published it can no longer be edited. You can save a report as a draft on your phone or on the web and come back later to further edit or add content.
